The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Behind the Wall of Sleep - The Smithereens
A song that brings back memories.. I wont say what sort though
Fine, I'll hereby solemnly swear not to play perennial American party favorites, "Y.M.C.A." and the "Macarena", if you promise not to play "The Agadoo."
and firm Robyn limits too. Only one Robyn song per hour.
and the D.J. tip jar is mine at the end of the night.
and I reserve the right to kick out anybody at the party who shows up wearing crushed velevet.

I'm going to tell you my shameful secret, jams.
I own The Smithereens Greatest Hits, and as such drive my family insane playing it ad nauseum.
"Blood And Roses, "A Girl Like You", "House That We Used To Live In", it's all good.
And why not.. they were pretty good. I also love Only a memory.. perhaps Guadalcanal Diary next!
I forgot about "Only A Memory", another one of my Smithereen favorites! It's settled then, we are musically similar enough to co-D.J. a party.
Provided there's room for some Fixx on the rotation. :)
Okay, the Fixx it is but I might have to Play Feed the Tree, Muwahahahaha!
Like making a pact with the Devil.....

Deal?
deal but if only one Robyn per hour I must have some Hawkwind in trade off! The extended version of Brainstorm is only 57 minutes!!!
Crushed velvet and Macarena bans are perfectly fine too!!!
