The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Well it would be a mess - chicken grease everywhere. One problem, cats can withstand heat better than us and love chicken.. I suppose it would be a great way to feed them!
Bloody hell Steve, that's about as hot as I can stand It will probably be a pretty hot summer here, with tempereatures heading into the 90s I fear.
I gather that the cat brain secretes more endorphins that the human brain. but they do get insanely close, especially Ted with his jet black fur!
Knowing Mimi, who is too stupid to be scared by anything, I would imgine she would be trying to get the foil off the popcorn as soon as the first pop is heard!
She's mesmorised, bless. PS our tag is up on the meme page x x
ReplyDeleteAny closer and you'd have to sing, "CAT BUTTS roasting on an open fire......."
ReplyDeleteShe goes into an utter trance when by teh fire, raising her head to get the heat on her chest and chin.
ReplyDeleteLOL ewbl! I can't understand how she can get so close and not bake. Ted gets as close and his jet black fur really gets hot
I'm just interested in the fact that you need a fire! We're wearing shorts over here!
ReplyDeleteIt turned rather cold last week Elizabeth.. the month before the temperature was 20 degrees (F) higher!

ReplyDeleteWhere is the rotissere kit in the fire? If you placed a chicken in the fireplace you might have a mess.
Earl the cat is disinterested in Barbeques until the food is placed on them. Then it becomes grend theft el gato.
Charming picture! Sometimes I envy Mimi, but not her place by the fire... its 81°F here, and it's not even noon yet.
ReplyDeleteI'll givee it consideration Mimi.

A cat's body temperature is about 6° higher than humans, but that's still pretty close.
ReplyDeleteShe is probably seeing something in the rising air that we don't.
That fire needs something cooking on it, at least popcorn, or marshmallows, although I doubt Mimi would appreciate the corn popping.
