  1. Hi Jams, I like those Rodins. We have "The Thinker" (replica I suppose) outside my school's law school building.
I were to take an art Class it might be on Rodin's works. Like you, we did visit the Rodin Museum in Paris.
    Happy WW!

  2. Dude! That's totally spookular!

great choice of angles for the subject. Makes it even more "threatening" than it might have been.

    Well played!

That's amazing. Disturbing but beautiful all at once or that's how it strikes me.

  7. This figure really looks to be crying out in anguish. There is so much emotion in this sculpture.

  9. He could capture passion and make it last forever. I feel the pain in this. I saw a Rodin show in Connecticut a few years ago and couldn't get over how much I felt every statue in the show. It was exhausting.

I have never seen these before. The last one immediately reminded me of that Goya painting of Saturn eating his son!

  20. A great picture, jams, of a frightening work. The demon's face seems familiar; is that from one of the instances of the Gates of Hell? I've seen one of those on the Stanford University campus in California, many years ago. I can find a listing of it on the web, but I didn't find photos to compare.

Or maybe it just looks like a long-ago former housemate when she was angry at me...

  21. I didn't quite realise how demonic the face was but after a bit of adjustment it did look pretty scary
