On one occasion I was with them at an air show where these beautiful aeroplanes were doing joy rides. An elderly lady approached the pilot who was standing at the foot of the aircraft steps. "How old is this aircraft?"

"Well, it's coming up for fifty years," said the pilt.

"Are you sure it's safe to fly in?" asked the lady

"Well it wouldn't be that old if it wasn't." They still fly up in Alaska because there's no replacement for their size and cost. They put in newer, more efficient engines to fly higher and faster, but the basic airframe is hard to beat.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19492813.post-48359139847336306852008-02-13T22:48:00.000+00:002008-02-13T22:48:00.000+00:00Sad, very sad.Surely if a passenger is happy to em...Sad, very sad.

Surely if a passenger is happy to embark and the pilot is happy to fly what's the problem?Grendelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14517877929080302948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19492813.post-14974293977838739782008-02-13T22:03:00.000+00:002008-02-13T22:03:00.000+00:00Glad you like these posts!Glad you like these posts!jams o donnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17315325008175184363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19492813.post-83100344834333713972008-02-13T21:24:00.000+00:002008-02-13T21:24:00.000+00:00This post and the one below it - both very interes...This post and the one below it - both very interesting posts!
