Wordless Wednesday - Last fuchsia of the season

This week's entry for the Tuesday and Wednesday edition of Wordless Wednesday. The frosts have finally come and killed off most of our remaining flowers. The Thalia is not frost hardy so it has gone into the greenhouse for the winter. At least it will only be a couple of months until we see the first Snowdrops.

Wow…what a great picture! It looks like it is situated a bit out of time and reality in your shot.

Last one! Hmmmm. I can't wait to see what you have next week.

Thank you, Jams, for showing us this pretty flower.
I post the 'last rose of summer' picture on my other blog. This year I have one from the Robert Burns birthplace in Alloway, Ayrshire, Scotland. The roses are still blooming around here in Texas.

My roots are partly in Isle of Man (Corkill's), partly in England (Fletcher's), the rest in Germany.
Happy WW/WT!

Beautiful shot. I hope you'll understand if I don't feel too sorry for you today that you've had some frost -- it's -26C here today; -36 with the windchill. Our flowers have all been dead for a couple of months already!

I just brought in my last geranium and lobelia from the front porch last night. The Christmas cactus is about to bloom out in the cold garage. Inside, the aloe is perking along. LOL I even have a pink shrub rose still blooming, the little Dear. :) Happy WW! I always enjoy your photos.

Beautiful shot. It's a bit sad to watch everything wither and to know that we're into winter proper.

Great WW photo! The trees and flowers are gone here in Ohio...

I have a George Bush cartoon waiting for you.

Beautiful!!
It has been very mild here, and we still have a few blooms on the roses, although the frost the other night finished off the fuchsias and bedding.

I'm thankful for winter because its the only three months out of the year that we don't have high electric bills due to running the air conditioning non-stop.

I like the black background you added on this one jams. Very artistic!

Very beautiful shot :)

jams, it's beautiful! I have a new uone up for WW on Wednesday! Thanks for visit yesterday. :)

Thanks everyone! Conversely our bills soar as the heating goes on ewbl. I get the black effect by choosing a subject with as little background clutter as possible. A high depth of field combined with a weak flash (then Ring Flash does not throw a strong light) illuminates the subject but does not illuminate what is behind (or not much). To fully blacken the background I simply play with light and contrast levels.
