The theme for this week's
Photo Hunt is pointed. These photos were taken during a recent trip to Paris. It is the Memorial des martyrs de la deportation memorial near Notre Dame cathedral. It commemorates the 200,000 French citizens deported to concentration camps in WWII. Not only is it literally pointed, it is poignant too.

Powerful post and photographs. I hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, that is really good! I hope you are having a good weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad and moving tribute, and yes quite pointed! It is awful to think what some humans are capable of doing to others.

ReplyDeleteJams, this was such a great choice for the theme this week. You are so right, it is pointed and poignant. Your framed the photos quite beautifully, too.
ReplyDeleteA commentrary on comments: Do you ever wonder what people are trying to accomplish, or what they're thinking, when they come to comment, when their comments make it so obvious that they have not read a single word you've written?
Well done!
ReplyDeleteSuperb shots, and very thought-provoking. It's not a comfortable sculpture.
ReplyDeleteTo take up the point made by gandalf & grayson, I wonder about that too. It happens very frequently indeed.

ReplyDeleteOhhh these are cool pointed shots, Jams! I like it!
ReplyDeleteI was a little spooked when I saw these pointed metals hanging on the wall. And when I read the words "concentration camps," I felt sadness.

That definitely makes its point. (sorry, couldn't resist).
ReplyDeleteWhat a gruesome and sharp reminder.
