The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Mimi is utterly perverse. When she is unhappy she won't deliberately claw but her writhing makes her impossible to hold on to. If stressed she will pee on you too.. We never try to pill her anymore!
My Cat Chloe loves being brushed. When she's had enough she simply bites me. She has a cat play Station where she can pluck away at her hearts content. When she wants to be brushed she sits on the top of it and bops me as I walk by thus indicating that she requires her weekly ritual brushing...very clever cat is Chloe!
I think some cats don't. Besides they don't like to be predictable. .. I have given you "You Give Me Happy Feet" award. Jams, you are there for me in blogging as the numbers tell in your encouraging comments. I went by the numbers, but I really appreciate you and your posts. I did give it to myself again, "went by the numbers!" Come get it again from my Little Photo Place and review the rules! ..
I have never heard of a cat that did not like the brush.
ReplyDeleteWas that being combed, or being the comb?
ReplyDeleteI don't think the extensions are really her thing.
Whatever the cause, there's no mistaking the expression of discontent. I hope the Not-Wife was spared the claws!

ReplyDeleteWe have a writhing cat, too - even cat-carriers can't hold her! I recognise Mimi's expression.
ReplyDeleteYou could just about plait and bead that fur :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe she's waiting for you humans to give her the "Mama Cat" tongue-based grooming treatment.
ReplyDeleteI missed you, jams! Thanks for being my blog friend even though I'm a colossal flake.

ReplyDeleteYeah, beakerkin, shows that you still don't know a lot about cats. I usually end up bleeding after the brushing of our male cat.
Luckily the other's love their brushing. Ted would have our hand off if he didn't!
