This is a great shot. Rodin was such an incredible sculptor. I'm getting so excited because my state's museum received a gift of 23 Rodins and is in the process of building a special gallery and garden for them. I can hardly wait. Fun in the meantime to see his work on blogs. JMB also did a post some time ago where she featured some of Rodin's work which is at the Philadelphia Museum.

Thank you Jams. I have no idea what piece this one is?
You are making me want to find my old 35mm pictures we took. But they weren't annotated either.

Rodin's sculptures are amazing. When I was a teenager a teacher of mine took me to see a set of sculptures he did of men condemned to death. It was something like nine men done in bronze, all larger than life-sized. The the poses and facial expressions were incredible.

What a stern expression! Happy WW, Jams.

Hmmmmm...Reminds me of my 7th grade Algebra teacher! I'm certain Rodin's gentleman has a lot more heart.

The Rodin Museum was the gift of movie theater magnate Jules Mastbaum to the city of Philadelphia. Mastbaum began collecting works by Rodin in 1923 with the intent of founding a museum to enrich the lives of his fellow citizens.
