he theme for this week's Photo Hunt is flag. Ach what is a Photo Hunt if I can't mould the theme to a photo I want to post! Here's a crab spider the not-wife found on our Cephalaria this evening.. It's patience in waiting for prey never flags!
I couldn't in all good conscience stretch this theme so blatantly and badly so here is a Union Jack flying over a building in central London

Very funny. You developed a conscience ("I couldn't in all good conscience stretch this theme so blatantly and badly so here is a Union Jack flying over a building in central London"). I've always enjoyed your images.
James
You gave in. Onwards
But Hey Jams!
The flower actually have 'flags' :)
I prefer the first shot ;)
I'm a bit sceptical to ordinary flags these days.
Union Jack though.. is a cool name!
Have a great weekend!

Few too many ales?
interesting the curved flagpole on the second pic... how come?
Creepy spider!! Great pics, both of them. :) Happy weekend Jams!
Thanks everyone. Ian I will come clean. I distorted the image!
I like your first take on the theme.
Nice shots.
Oh I like stretched themes! Good choices for this week Jams. :)
Have a great weekend. :)

Jams. I must confess. I must. I have stretched the theme so blatantly n more too before as sometimes I just dont have the pics. But the difference is the next time I falter before i stretch again, i will console myself, Jams did it before too hahahahhahahaah
I like both of your choices for the theme. I enjoy the stretched ones. I don't think it's stretched, rather I see that as creative. Happy weekend.
great catch! Love the first shot, and of course a great flag!
Wow..very interesting!! Great entry for this week's PH.
Aloha,

Go fly high, Union Jack! :)
Actually, jams, I thought your stretching attempt was alright! ;b
I'm glad you admitted to distorting the real flag image Jams. That's the first thing I noticed.
Well after the creepy bug.
Have a good weekend.
Both great flags!
i love the stretched ones, how cool.
that made me giggle.:P fun post.
I like the un-flagging life of your little critter. I was going to use a flag iris but was distracted.
I wanted to stretch the theme too but happens that we have this important event Asian Youth Games happening in Singapore right now. :)
Wow, I like the way you stretched the theme. Definitely a very different take of it!
Is that pole bending or is it an optical illusion?
Good stretching! Your physiotherapist would be proud of you.
Love your "bending and stretching" to fit the first photo to the theme! Very clever! And official flags always parade well!
Thanks everyone!
Good choices - not too fond of the first photo but I like the bend on the subject.
Jams....you did a fabulous job with the patient spider....and the waving flag photo against the clouds.....awesome.
I like "theme-benders" who are so creative. Your second photo is more like mine. ;-)
Love your spin that included the spider!
And it's kinda strange the way we give our flags nicknames (Union Jack, Old Glory).
Happy weekend.
Lol, what a nice interpretation. I think to be a flag fan you have to be American ! You were right, it is the Austrian flag, the white and red. If you consider that I took the English flag for a flag from the red cross when I was in Eastbourne, you can see my knowledge about flags, lol. There was a football game, and the flags were hanging out !
Perfect hunt!
The spider is seriously creepy. Ewww! But the Union jack is fabulous!
Thanks everyone
Yikes, that spider looks huge. Your photos are so brilliant!!! I love the wave in the flagpole. GREAT post.
I also did Photo Hunters (finally). I hope you can visit.
Have a happy weekend!

Ha, just perfect!
I wouldn't be fond of finding this spider anywhere... although it is more beautiful than some. In Williamsburg one Christmas one homeowner made a Union Jack out of flowers and other seeds to use on the door like a Christmas wreath.. I almost added that to my collection. My flags are here.
Woah James, I've never seen such a creamy looking crab before! This would have been great for last week's creamy theme as well :)
Good job! Whether it matches the theme or not, that spider was awesome...
Crafty theme stretching! I've spied a similar white spider (eeek!) in my garden, but didn't know what it was called. I try to think about spiders (shudder!) as little as possible...
Union Jack has some curves!
still, this is a good take, jams!
That is one of the coolest spiders, ever! I had to click on it so I could enjoy all the details, and it is sensational! Never one to shrink from bending a theme to a photo, myself - or anything else, for that matter! - kudos!
Thanks for visiting me!
I love the way you have manipulated that flag :-)
Thanks everyone
Nicely taken! Thanks for dropping by.
I always like an unusual treatment of the theme, but I will say I do like the Union Jack shot, though I gather even that was stretched. :) Thanks for visiting mine.
You can always be trusted to stretch a theme in a most fascinating way! Well done again.
