The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

I'm glad you took 400 photos, Jams. And I hope you post them all here for me to see. The last thing I want to do, at my age, is to visit a cemetery and to wander around. I'm afraid the Guardian might decide I belong in there permanently, and would not let me leave.
