I was saddened to hear that actor Edward Woodward has died, aged 79. Woodward.Woodward is known for his major tv series Callan and The Equalizer, but his finest hour was certainly the role of Sergeant Howie in the Wicker Man (the original and not the abysmal remake starring Nicholas Cage).
The still shows Howie catching sight of the Wicker Man, his final resting place.

I, too, was saddened. I thought he was quite brilliant.
Hard to believe but I suppose people age and die.
A sad loss but true he had a fair innings
Never seen the Wicker Man, but I've always been very fond of Edward Woodward. He'll be missed.
I always loved his acting, a shame to see him go.
