The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Ted is slightly dismayed at my3,000th post
Where Ted shows slight dismay Mimi, if she had still been alive,would have been shocked at the continuing torrent of drivel to be found at the Poor Mouth
3,000 posts? WOW!Congratulations! Marvellous, Jams. And it's not drivel. I learn something everytime I visit. And you never miss when you put photos of your family.
Wow, 3000! I just noticed I had reached 400. As a mere novice driveller I bow down before your mastery of the art. I must trawl back through your work in my idle moments and see what there is to be found.

Thanks Andrew. I did start off a lot more seriously and the blog was a lot more political rarlier on... but I got bored of politics. I hope your trawl is not too dismal!

Mimi was just a moggy nursemyra, albeit a pretty little one who died too young.

Remember I told you that Ted was planning a career in Human Resources. I saw an add for your role and the role of the not wife in the Mumbai Times. He's trying to outsource your role.
Certainly I would have been the first to congratulate, Jams, but you will understand that, due to 'German Gründlichkeit', I first had to check that your counting does not lack of accuracy. But now: Congratulations, my friend!
