he theme for the week's Photo Hunt is framed, What to choose? Here's another outing of a photo of a painting my dear friend Suzy Ripley did of the not-wife for me as a birthday present. The not-wife's father framed it beautifully but I don't have a pic of the frame (It is off the wall and in storage until we repaint)
Very very nice. And a nice rendering of the two NotMice too
ReplyDeleteWait. There are mice in the painting? I am bemused, as usual.
ReplyDeleteIt's really nice to have a painting of oneself or a loved one. Was she really wearing that long, blue dress or is that her in another, earlier century? ;-) Quite elegant in any event.
Good choice for "framed". I haven't played Photo Hunt in a long time. Thanks for the reminder. It's a fun one!
Thanks Andrew, It was a very popular present. The not-wife liked it very much
ReplyDeleteAh Sphinx, Andrew is referring to Ted and Robyn.. being cats they are of course not mice!
I like Photo Hunt even if it can be a head scratcher to match a photo to the theme (without stretching it as I do all the time!)
Eh... No. there are NotMice, ie Cats. As in Jam's use of NotW... Oh, Never mind... Apologies for the confusion. I do it a lot (ie confuse, then apologise)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I've done it again cos Jam's explanation popped in between my NotCat Click (mouse click) and the comment appearing.
ReplyDeleteHaha Andrew Scott, the lord of misrule strikes again!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely painting and gift, Jams. Worth a re-post when the frame's... back in the frame?
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting on the not wife and I love the way they cats and flowers are included. Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful choice for today.
ReplyDeletethat is really beautiful. a treasure.
ReplyDeletehappy weekend.
Indeed, worth a frame!
ReplyDeleteI love this painting (and so cool that the kitties are in the frame too!). Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You really will take me, when I return as a cat, to live with this beautiful pas-la-femme et ses chats? You promised....
ReplyDeleteYour "not-wife" mentions get me giggling, jams. No conventional "girlfriend" or "significant other" for you, huh? :b
ReplyDeleteLOL. I thought for once you would be not "stretching" but no, circumstances, all explained, do not allow straight forward. Lovely anyway.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you.
Lovely!!!!! Both the painting and the not-wife!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely painting. I want to get one done before I'm all wrinkled. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
My dad is a painter and he does all his own framing. Me I just take photographs.
ReplyDeleteCool painting with cats. :)

It will need to be stretched to be reframed :) Great choice with neat allusive stuff in the painting. (oops - allusive makes me a pretentious twat) -
ReplyDelete(hope this comment gets through the blogger fence - the past few weeks when I've tried they have all failed)
what a lovely painting. happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteA lovely painting - but definitely cheating on this week's theme!
ReplyDeleteThe not-wife is not-framed :-)
beautiful take on the theme!
ReplyDeleteWho needs the frame?
ReplyDeleteClaude intends to return as a cat!!?? Oh dear. That will be one furry little bundle of mischief. More than a match for any Tom-ish Ted, I reckon
ReplyDeleteWho indeed, James!
ReplyDeleteHaha Andrew, Ted would be under Claude's dew claw in seconds!
Obviously the work of imagination the real Ted has been in one photo with another life form
ReplyDeleteThis painting is really beautiful! The lovely figure seems framed by Nature as if she is in tune with it!
ReplyDeletebeautiful painting!
ReplyDeletehappy weekend! :)
Hahaha ! a picture without frame, that's the best framed picture I have seen today !!
ReplyDeletelike a goddess she is-
ReplyDeleteI like that painting, no wonder you love it! So romantic.

My first though as I saw the photo without reading the words was " is she a goddess?" and that means a super big WOW :)
ReplyDeleteplease say "hello" to the not-wife for me, she is beautiful :)
Wow, beautiful painting, beautiful not-wife. I love the kitties!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful birthday present, with or without the frame! Hurry up with that repainting.
ReplyDeleteIt's the magical, invisible because it's in storage frame.
ReplyDeleteAs one born in Ireland, but living in Canada for many years, I love to come across the old expressions I remember from childhood. God knows I was accused of putting on the poor mouth on more than one occasion!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your not-wife. I will be back to check out your intriguing site another time!
Now this is what I call a wonderful birthday gift! It's a lovely shot of a wondrous painting. :-)
ReplyDeleteSu-sieee! Mac
This and That. Here and There. Now, Sometimes Then.
Beautiful frame and a wonderful gift!w
ReplyDeletePhoto Hunt-Framed
Wow, gorgeous painting of not-wife with not-mice! As always, I love seeing what you come up with - how perfect to have an unframed picture for the framed theme! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone... Hey Beak have you heard of poetic license?
ReplyDeleteI am running late this week on my visits. I love the colors used in the painting. It took me a minute to decide what not-wife means.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And like Maya up there, I love the colours -- the shades of purple speak to me =)
ReplyDeleteSreisaat Adventures
Geat take on the theme this week - I've enjoyed looking at the different frames that people have posted. Isn't it wonderful to ahve art with special meaning for you hanging around the house (or in storage *smile*
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend.
How lovely. I haven't seen that before but guessed before reading that it was the not-wife.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
