he theme for the week's Photo Hunt is framed, What to choose? Here's another outing of a photo of a painting my dear friend Suzy Ripley did of the not-wife for me as a birthday present. The not-wife's father framed it beautifully but I don't have a pic of the frame (It is off the wall and in storage until we repaint)

Very very nice. And a nice rendering of the two NotMice too

  2. Wait. There are mice in the painting? I am bemused, as usual.

It's really nice to have a painting of oneself or a loved one. Was she really wearing that long, blue dress or is that her in another, earlier century? ;-) Quite elegant in any event.

Good choice for "framed". I haven't played Photo Hunt in a long time. Thanks for the reminder. It's a fun one!

  3. Thanks Andrew, It was a very popular present. The not-wife liked it very much

Ah Sphinx, Andrew is referring to Ted and Robyn.. being cats they are of course not mice!

I like Photo Hunt even if it can be a head scratcher to match a photo to the theme (without stretching it as I do all the time!)

Eh... No. there are NotMice, ie Cats. As in Jam's use of NotW... Oh, Never mind... Apologies for the confusion. I do it a lot (ie confuse, then apologise)

Oh, and I've done it again cos Jam's explanation popped in between my NotCat Click (mouse click) and the comment appearing.

  13. WOW! You really will take me, when I return as a cat, to live with this beautiful pas-la-femme et ses chats? You promised....

  14. Your "not-wife" mentions get me giggling, jams. No conventional "girlfriend" or "significant other" for you, huh? :b

  15. LOL. I thought for once you would be not "stretching" but no, circumstances, all explained, do not allow straight forward. Lovely anyway.

    Happy weekend to you.

It will need to be stretched to be reframed :) Great choice with neat allusive stuff in the painting. (oops - allusive makes me a pretentious twat) -

(hope this comment gets through the blogger fence - the past few weeks when I've tried they have all failed)

Claude intends to return as a cat!!?? Oh dear. That will be one furry little bundle of mischief. More than a match for any Tom-ish Ted, I reckon

  25. Who indeed, James!

Haha Andrew, Ted would be under Claude's dew claw in seconds!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Obviously the work of imagination the real Ted has been in one photo with another life form

As one born in Ireland, but living in Canada for many years, I love to come across the old expressions I remember from childhood. God knows I was accused of putting on the poor mouth on more than one occasion!

Love the photo of your not-wife. I will be back to check out your intriguing site another time!

  37. Now this is what I call a wonderful birthday gift! It's a lovely shot of a wondrous painting. :-)

  41. I am running late this week on my visits. I love the colors used in the painting. It took me a minute to decide what not-wife means.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Beautiful! And like Maya up there, I love the colours -- the shades of purple speak to me =)

Geat take on the theme this week - I've enjoyed looking at the different frames that people have posted. Isn't it wonderful to ahve art with special meaning for you hanging around the house (or in storage *smile*

    Have a super weekend.
