The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Crab Spider

You do get Crab spiders in teh US elasticwaistbaandlady.. I don't think the american species are venomous (ors arent't)
We don't harm spiders either sonshine. Our garden is an insect paradise, especially for bees and butterflies. Wasps too as they are good for the garden, not to mention ladybirds (ladybugs).
I've planted specifically with butterflies, bumble bees, and ladybugs in mind.
Wasps, no. I hate them and we have a particularly vicious species here that seems to be more aggressive than other places. We also have African killer bees that have attacked here in Houston. Fire ants, you have no idea what a scourge to humanity they are. Just thinking about it is making me itch.

ReplyDeleteAh our wasps are little sweeites by comparisn and thy do a lot of good in the garden. Luckily no african bees or fire ants here.

Red, it is a tiny little spider only 10mm or so big. No probs for us but death to unsuspecting bees!
