The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Sometime to Return - Soul Asylum
I had the temerity to say to Dave Pirner that he was Husker Du protege once - when an Immigrarion Offiicer many years ago - he told me to fuck off. Such is life...... I still like this song
We there was a little bit of a wind up. Part of it was to break the boredom. High summer caught on teh North American flights arrivals could be mind numbing.
He used to date Winona Ryder. He used to be at the top of the billboard charts. He used to have name recognition. And now, he's the shaggy haired musician that time has pretty much forgotten about.
I hate 'Runaway Train' with the intensity of a thousand sporks jabbing me in the ears. Easily, the most overplayed song of the 90's along with 'losing My Religion.'

Cool song. Comparing one musician to another, to his face... you do like living dangerously, don't you, jams? :)
