The theme for this week's
Photo Hunt is sad. I suppose I could have gone for one of our feline masters giving a baleful stare when no food is forthcoming but then again what is sadder than a seven-legged spider... or a photo hunter stretching the theme!
Sad....but scary-looking too!! That is one big, fat spider!
ReplyDeleteVery nice shot! and I smiled with that caption:) Mine is posted HERE. Happy PH!~
ReplyDeleteA very cool photo, and I too smiled at the "stretching the theme" part! Have a nice weekend, Annie
ReplyDeleteYou may be stretching the theme but it is an amazing photo!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
I had to laugh at a photohunter stretching a theme. I do that most of the time and don't even have a web to span the distance. A 7 legged spider is a little sad. That's an amazing shot.
ReplyDeletescary
ReplyDeleteMissing a leg doesn't seem to be much of a problem for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not keen on spiders, but that's a brilliant shot!
Hah, talking about photo hunter stretching the theme, come and see what I pulled out of my magic hat. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy photo hunting. This is an outstanding image.
Thanks everyone
ReplyDeleteGreat shot but for very personal reasons I couldn't take it for more than one second... which can be considered just as sad as the spider with only 7 legs...
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Jams :)
Nice photo. It is scary to me too...so sad that part of its leg is gone, however, If I'd seen it.. it would be squished!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Jams. You have a sad case of stretching the theme again.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. I think there will be a few of us stretching the theme this week! Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI must tell you that Dragonstar has been very brave to count the legs on this lady.
ReplyDeleteI fancy there will be a lot of stretched items today.
So long as the spiders are outside - I'm quite good about them. :)
ReplyDeleteIts a great macro! Hah I dont see what sad in it lol...
ReplyDeletePoor wee beastie!
ReplyDeleteGood one Jam, nice photo
ReplyDelete.. or a photo hunter stretching the theme!-> just like Carver , Colin n others, i had a smaile when i read that. photohunters is just that..photohunters. :) no need to take it too seriously.
ReplyDeletemy chickens too were stretching the theme. i had my real sad pics of sad ppl in sad circmstances but those pics r not for photohunters.
Aw, poor spider.
ReplyDeleteYour entry is unique for your creativity made it so
Wow! Excellent, excellent shot!
ReplyDeleteFunny thing is: somehow connected to my PSH ;-)
Looking at a 7 legged spider does make us sad..
ReplyDeletewow...cool macro shot
ReplyDeletePlease stop at my PH post also: in HERE or HERE Thanks
I'm sure it is not much of a handicap for him or do you think it requires every leg to spin a good web. Great photo Jams.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Oh, Jams! Really. :-)
ReplyDeleteI almost didn't post...honestly. Sad? I hope it rains today to complete the mood....
Come visit!

It would be sad losing a foot. It's good, it had eight.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Jams, I think you have done well.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this photo!! It's brilliant!
ReplyDeletePoor spider!
ReplyDeleteLove your shot - the green colour is perfect as contrast.
Poor spidey. Great shot
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any photos of any sad things so I had to post about something sad. I love your "stretch" of imagination. My outdoor garden spider is "Larry." He keeps the aphids off of my roses...
ReplyDelete~~~Blessings~~~
nice shot! great close up! =)
ReplyDeletePretty shot dear...Happy hunting!
ReplyDeletegreat shot! nice take on the theme by the way.
ReplyDeletehappy weekend! :)
Yes....7 legs is a sad situation. Sad is something I don't do...so, this week is difficult.
ReplyDeleteMy photo hunt is a drawing...stop by, won't you? You've seen it already tho, on my W W a few weeks ago.
Hope your weekend is treating you well.
Haha... I don't think you're not stretching it... not far enough at least. I can imagine how sad it would be if I lose one of my limbs.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite an amazing photo!

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeletenew
ReplyDeleteThat is sad...but it doesn't seem to be stopping the spider! What an amazing photo!
ReplyDeleteOMG ! I am still crying and sobbing and sobbing, the poor thing with only 7 legs !!
ReplyDeleteawww poor spider, excellent photo though!
ReplyDeleteview mine if you wish here thanks...
You know I like stretching the theme --- Great shot! Mine not such a stretch this week.
ReplyDeleteoh, truly sad...
ReplyDeleteYes, a Photo Hunter stretching the theme is quite sad. ;) LOL. But what a GREAT shot! And a critter without a leg is indeed sad.
ReplyDeleteI did Photo Hunters today, too. I hope you get a chance to visit and post your link. It would make me *happy*!

I agree it is more on the scary side - I hate spider!! So one with only 7 legs makes me smile!! ha ha
ReplyDeleteooohhh kinda creepy! I guess a spider with 7 legs is sad. hopefully it's not in pain. Either way great photo.
ReplyDeletemine's up here.
that spider must be sad. he lost a leg
ReplyDeleteOh I don't know, doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Oh poor thing! But one less leg doesn't mean I won't get scared, does it? hehe
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter whether he as 7 or 8 legs, it's still a beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteOoops, it's sad to see a spider without the web.
ReplyDeletegreat entry.
PS. we are returning to our Winterhome - leaving our summerhome is allways sad.
AWWWW Poor Spider
ReplyDeleteHehe. That's some what sad. Makes you wonder how it lost them. But at least it will grow them back.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured. I'm not sure I can muster much sympathy toward a spider (shudder). Sad, but true!
ReplyDeleteStretch away, Jams... This was a tough one!
That is sad. I do think spiders can grow back legs, though?
ReplyDeleteGood thing I'm not scared of spiders! lol When I saw this photo, I thought of the children's story "Charlotte's Web" and how she died after her babies were all born. But such is the cycle of life.
ReplyDeleteOh, is that little hole where his leg used to be? I hope he did not accidentally make his web too sticky.
ReplyDeleteOh well .... he/she's got seven left!
ReplyDeleteThey're not half as sad as we if we loose one?
Very well done Jams, you made me smile on this sad day! LOL!
Very creative! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteOh, my god! However did you get close enough? I would leave the country, or even Europe, if I saw one of those!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of arachnids!
ReplyDeleteAmazing that you got close to take such a photo AND to count the number of legs the critter has! ;D
ReplyDeleteHaha - I always enjoy what you come up with every theme every week! That is one unusual spider, indeed!
ReplyDeleteNice picture, Jams. I liked it, poor little spider...
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, and I hope you have a great week!
My post...
Now that's scary AND sad. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteEeeeeewwwwww...spiders give me the creeps! :( My sad photo is here.
ReplyDeletehow you spot that critter and capture a shot of its crippled state - I salute you!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that it lost one leg. I hope it can still have a good life despite that.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrrrrrrr..........scary spider!
ReplyDeleteHow does one participate in the photo hunt? Is it exclusive to Blogpower members? or a more generic project?
ReplyDeleteI always like theme stretching. But I can't seem to find it in my heart to have any sympathy with a spider. I am a hard woman :)
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a coincidence. I shot a few pics of a 7-legged spider myself last week.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't worry about stretching a theme, lol. I'm sure it was sad for the spider. And, I'm sure most of us are guilty of a bit of stretching. It's part of what makes PhotoHunt interesting.
Baker
Thanks.
ReplyDeletePhoto Hunt is open to everyone ms smack
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow - fantastic photo! I think it's a nice take on the theme. At least he can get by with the seven he has left.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by - looking forward to next week's Hunt being happier! ;-)
Sad indeed, and a great photo.
ReplyDeleteTHanks!
