The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Oscar
Robyn's predecessor as alpha cat at Hope Cottages. He died in 2002 aged about 16 or 17
Bryan beat me to the use of the word "formidable"; that was my first thought. There was a cat like Oscar in my neighborhood when I was growing up. Nothing... and no one... challenged that cat!
That is a nice portrait of him. I was just reminiscing the other day about am old dog who passed away about the same time.
ReplyDeleteThat's a formidable looking cat with more muscle than fluff.

ReplyDeleteThanks Digital. He was a handsome but friendly fellow
ReplyDeleteFormidable is a good word for him. He was fairly small but he was very strong
He has a decidedly "don't mess with me" look, but I bet he enjoyed his fussing too. He lived to a good age.
ReplyDeleteThat is anexcellent description of Oscar! He also would purr for ages
ReplyDeleteAre you sure this is not a picture of
ReplyDeleteMimi on steroids?
I shudder to think what steroids would do to poor little Mimi!
ReplyDeleteShe would probably miss the litter box in greater distances and in greater volume.
ReplyDeleteHaha I think you're right there!
