WW - Armistice Day


Today is teh 90th anniversary of the end of WWI. This photo is another taken at the Field of Remembrance, Westminster Abbey on Friday. This week's entry for the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of Wordless Wednesday.

  4. I thought I might get a chance to go there myself on Saturday when I was in London, but I ran out of time.

  11. You were obviously very moved by this and how could you not be? I had forgotten that it was the 90th anniversary. It seems to have been the war which has affected us most of any. May we never forget.

    It is an evocative image. Isn't it amazing to think that WWI was supposed to have been 'the war to end all wars' -- and here we are, warring still. Sad.

  23. a fitting capture for those brave men... i believe there are still 3 living veterans for WW1 there... here, all of them have passed away...
