The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
I hadn't RJ. It is a stunning memorial tht is well worth visitin when in Paris. In London I would recommend anyone to visit teh Spanish & Portugese synagoge which dates from 1700. It is the oldest synagogue in Britain and thanks to the Reich sadly the one with the longest unbroken service in Europe
