The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Still life with Ted, Corkscew, DVDs and Television
It looks as if Ted used the corkscrew before he settled down beside it. A few years ago I regularly used the term "corkscrew" in a curse I flung at a certain American politician whenever he appeared on TV... I wonder if Ted uses that same phrase toward a similarly offensive UK politician.
Never used it to describe a politician Steve, but I can think of a fair few who I would suggest make use of teh corkscrew in a place that will hurt them!

So after finishing off a couple of bottles of port, Ted passes out in from the Telly.
