The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

WW - Raspail
A well known statue at the Raspail tomb at Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris. This week's entry for the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of Wordless Wednesday.
Really interesting Jams, it looks so sorrow filled without even showing facial expression that is some artist. I love all the shadows playing in this and the angle as well!

I like the crop.
Taken at the right angle!
Love the yellow of the background against the grey and white of the statue....
Thanks everyone. I love this statue. More photos to come!
I like this statue too. It is unique to be situated at a tomb.
Thanks ECL it is an iconic image... in my opinion anyway!

You will definitely want to come over and check my WW post later (in about 8 hours). I always like it when people can get a laugh at my expense... :-)

Great shot.
Happy WW.
Situated at the right place :)
Shot from a good perspective too
Quite dramatic. Very strong (curved) lines on the figure.
That is interesting and, as catsynth said, quite dramatic. I've never seen anything quite like it, Jams.

Happy WW! I'm always amazed at the immense talent of people who scult things. This image is another example of that talent!
America is blessed to have a family with young 'uns in the White House. I invite your blog readers to enjoy the faces of Malia and Sasha Obama.
