The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
All great, but the little cat - that's very special. Many of your images are much more impressive than many of the ones I see selling in big quantities in poster shops on the High Street, especially (for me) the "other worldly" effect ones, the "ghost-like" blurred images of events and people in motion (not represented here), and the cats.
It's not rocket science Cherie. Find a subject with little background clutter, stop down the lens to reduce the amount of light but maximise the depth of field, then use a lowish power flash like y macr flash.
