The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Hey, it's that Michael Stipe guy dueting with her! Yeah, I know Kristin Hersh's music but I preferred her songs with her step-sister Tanya Donnelly when they had their group Throwing Muses. Tanya Donnelly made that group, Belly, in the 90's and I didn't care for their stuff at all.
It is with Michael Stipe... I find her stuff interesting but not great/ Throwing Muses were good at times (I was thinking of posting bright yellow gun or shimmer) as for Tanya Donelly I quite liked Belly.. Star had some good songs but the second album was pretty poor. She seems to have dropped out of sight pretty much and he solo stuff isn't good at all.

ReplyDeleteThey played "Feed The Tree" constantly on mainstream radio for two years. If I never hear that song again in my lifetime, I will die happy.
