The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Santa Claus is on the dole
Following on from my earlier Santa related post I couldn't resist checking Youtube to see if they had the old Spitting Image song Santa Claus is on the dole... and they do, enjoy!
Those kind of puppets scare the crap out of me! :O
ReplyDeleteThey look like the ones used in Genesis' "Land Of Confusion" video.
It could well be the same makers. Spitting Image was very popular in its time (84 to about 93 They did a lot of work for other people too.

ReplyDeleteIn Australia we had Rubbery Figures round the same years - probably an offshoot of spitting image.
