The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Did you have some Rush playing in the background, jams? Maybe that influenced your labeling!
My mom used to have this hideous arrangement in a giant copper pot of multi-colored reeds sprouting every which way. Yeah, ugly doesn't even begin to cover it. But then our kitchen was harvest gold with a dancing mushroom theme, and the reeds did go with the macrame hanging on the walls.
I don't want to seem pedantic, but it's a reed rather than a rush.

Wow your mum's tate is an inspiration. Dancing mushrooms? I doff my hat to a lady of elegance and taste!
