The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Irridescent beetle - Wordless Wednesday
This week's Wordless Wednesday entry is Odemera nobilis, also called the false oil beetle. I think it's quite beautiful.

Dramatically beautiful, jams. I know it's not your primary career, but I hope you're pursuing photography seriously on the side... you have a great deal of talent and skill.

wow those insects are really beautiful, you made them look really special.i am usually afraid of them, but looking at your pictures really showed that they are beautiful creatures too.. i just hate it when they sting and when they zzzz in your ears :(
