  1. Oh what a very nice take on the theme, since the world did come together to remember their dearly departed at the beginning of this month.

    Happy weekend.

  6. Ahhhh.... Good one Jams. :) Hope your weekend is going well. Saw your intruder cat pic - we have two and they are driving Pyewacket bananas.

I bought a spray can of cat deterrent - um, NOT very efective.

Round One to the intruders, zero to screaming Pye.

Ooopps....! When I look closer, then only I notice those are cross. But at one glance it sure does looks like mini bag maybe carrying a blessing for the dead.

  14. Amazing... too many dead ;(

  15. that's a lovely take on the theme, especially as, without wanting to sound much older than I am, the youth of today do not seem to comprehend what these men and women sacrificed for us.

  17. thank you for sharing this one jams, I enlarged the photo prior to reading what you said. I recognized the Poppy, and remember Flanders field.

    In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.
    — Lt.-Col. John McCrae

    Fills you with despair.

  26. It took so many brave souls to bring about peace. It's a shame that we can't remember more often...what is that phrase? "Those who fail to remember the past are doomed to repeat it..." I think that's correct. This is just one reason why I feel such a kindred spirit with our UK brethren.
    ~~~Blessings~~~
