Thanks everyone for your kind words of support. I was discharged from hospital yesterday with a cast from my right ankle to right thigh, painkillers and a zimmer frame. Being required to spend a week in hospital came as a bit of a shock... I really thought it would be a case of a bit of physiotherapy and back t work soon - not an operation to reattach a tendon to its muscle, a cast and six weeks of immobility!
One thing for sure, I will NEVER, NEVER lose patience with anyone who has to use a Zimmer frame to get around!
Blogging will of course be light. I will do my best to get around and visit as often as I can.
Regards
Jams
Good to read you are back home, Jams! No doubt you will soon be able to put the Zimmer frame into a dark corner, as not only the not-wife but also Robin and Ted will read all wishes in your eyes.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Jams.
Ah, and Officer Pluck asked me convey his best wishes for a swift recovery, too.
Ouch!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and get some bedrest!
welcome back!!! speedy recovery to you. :)
ReplyDeleteWell now, that's a bit of a facer - bad luck. However think of all the books you can read.
ReplyDeleteGet back on your feet soon... but not too soon.
Sorry I missed that, Jams. Get better.
ReplyDeleteThanka! I am looking forward to reading and watching my backlog of dvds... If I can reach them!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you are back home again Jams! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll hope you get better soon.
I'm thinking of you!
Anna
Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteTake care. Get eyedrops.
ReplyDeleteStrange to have a worse-than-you-thought situation, but I'm glad it was discovered and fixed up before it got worse. Sending you healing thoughts.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back! And take it easy...
ReplyDeleteGood to see yer back though!
ReplyDeleteGood yo have you back!!! You were missed!!!! Just take care and do what you can when you can. We will wait.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone
ReplyDeleteIt will be a while before I can get up to speed but it's great to be home!
I'm glad you're home Jams. Take good care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back Jams, take care.
ReplyDeleteJams,
ReplyDeleteHope you're better soon. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I would pimp my Zimmer if I had one. Maybe you could start a trend.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you have been released from hospital. I am sure the lovely Not Wife will be taking excellent care of you.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy with the Zimmer frame.:)
I am glad you have managed to escape. I hope you are feeling better soon :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your cast. I hope that it's not too painful or unweldy (is that even a word?)
ReplyDeleteGet Well soon!
It hurts me just thinking about it. Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteThrough my own absence I was unaware until now, Jams get better soon and rest easy :)
ReplyDeletePoor Jams. I'm glad the hospital packed you off home with painkillers. I hope you have a full and speedy recovery. Here's to the day when you can hurl that Zimmer frame into the boggiest part of Romney Marsh.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home and get better soonest :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind words. Much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteNow why will blogging be light? You have all this time on your hands!!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you're out of hospital. It sounded nasty. Hope your recovery is speedier than anticipated.
AH Liz, I have to sti side on to teh desk witn my leg up and my bum not fully on the chair.. not comfortable!
ReplyDeleteWow, jams, I didn't know! I've been away from the web for about a week, doing my best to damage my own back by moving to that new old house with Stella. Six weeks of immobility... for you, that will be a good approximation of Hell. Here's hoping the time goes quickly. Get healthy, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI hope everythings up and running now steve. I get the feeling I'll have a five week stint that will pass like the Hundred Year's War!
ReplyDeleteGlad to read you're back home. Always the best place to be to recover and hopefully quicker too! Don't envy you being in the plaster.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm going to google for zimmer frame for I don't exactly know what that is. I think I once used it to cycle over the ice, mighty handy then but my kids laughed their heads of. Oh who cares.....
Ouch, doesn't sound like much fun.
ReplyDeleteGet fit fast ;-)
THat would be worth seeing Carin!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris.. Sadly it ain't much fun. I think I'll have cabin fever before my six weeks in plaster is up!
Hope you are feeling better soon. From experience, a school ruler is excellent for those hard to get to itches and you will be rewarded with peelable sheets of dead skin under the plaster. But the pleasure of that first proper bath without having to stick one's leg up. Take care and be amazed at the muscle wastage (easily built back up) on the afected leg.
ReplyDeletePS don't eat anything producing crumbs without first covering the top of the plaster.
Thanks Gallimaufry. I am a lot more moble than I was but there are a lot of things I simply can't do. Being stuck in the house - and downstairs at that -is a real pisser. Hopefuly the cast comes off in 10 days time and I'll be able to return to work in early May
ReplyDeleteI've learned my lesson about crumbs!
