The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Phygelius capensis
It was almost worth jarring my bad knee for this shot!
They survive and thrive in our garden but it is sheltered and in a part of England that does not usually get hard winters. It may not thrive in places that get hard winters though
A shot definitely worthy of some pain....not too much pain though I hope!! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat the heck is that? I have never heard of it. But it is a lovely photo. I'll bet you are furious at not being able to tend your garden.
ReplyDeleteIt's also known as a Cape Fuchsia jmb. It is a beautiful and vigorous plant. I wish I could do some gardening,,, I can't even weed!
