The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

WW - Even more from Pere Lachaise
This week's entry for the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of Wordless Wednesday.
Thanks, Jams! Now I've got to go look up Pere Lachaise. I'm assuming he was a member of a religious order of some such, RC? I see a distinct lack of hope, devoid of emotion other than resignation to what unpleasantness lies ahead. Extremely provoking! Okay, I'm off to "google." Thanks for making me think. I don't dig deep much any more.... ~~~Blessings~~~
An amazing artist.
ReplyDeletedefinitely no words are needed for this photo.... If one looks closely, one can get the impression as if they are decaying inside....

Lovely and it somehow made me sad seeing their facial expressions.
ReplyDeleteThere is an incredible expressive quality in these statues. The young man in front in particular seems quite realistic.
ReplyDeleteIt has such a lifelike poignant expression. Amazing. Happy WW

How sad. They look like siblings mourning a lost parent.
