The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Thanks cherie, the technique of stopping down the lens and using a weak ring flash does provide a startling effect. It is this that provides tha dark background. I;ve been wondering if it is a bit samey though
