The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

I've never visited a McDonald's in France (and I can't remember when I visited one anywhere), but I'm intrigued by the efforts they've made there.
You certainly see them in France and I daresay they are popular but they are not as ubiquitous as they are in the UK
