The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Le Petomane in sound and vision (but not both together)
Aparently this is footage of Joseph Pujol of an Edison film from 1900.I have no idea if this genuine. It would e great if it is.There is no soundtrack
I'd read about this fellow but never saw him in action. Great way to make a living, if you have the skills for it!

The man was truly a marvel. If only decent colour and sound had been available to to film him at the eak of his talents
