Feral Cat Again

I know I posted this not many months ago but I've ust given permission to an academic to use the image on a report on animal welfare.

I took the photo in Ireland in 2008.  She was particularly hostile but then I was standing very close to her kittens. This could have been Bebe had we not taken her in

  1. A great photo. Good mummy, protecting her babies!

  2. She was very vociferous in her intention to make me get lost!

  4. Ah, so there but for the grace of Shaun goes Bebe.

But feral cats have a reasonable life, at the top of the food chain.

  5. There will be far worse fates.Still curled by the fire or outside. I think Bebe knows the choice on a cold night!

  6. I am sure she does! And with two human slaves to bring food and keep the fire stoked up. I do often wish I was a cat. Though perhaps I should be careful what I wish for in case those tales of cross-species reincarnation are correct. I can see a couple of disadvantages, namely getting my balls cut off at adolescence and a rather unsavoury alternative to toilet paper. But maybe these won't concern me when I am a warm and well-fed cat. I rather suspect they won't. So, something to hope for then.Thanks.

  8. Ah Don it's worth losing the knackers for waitress service and a warm place to live!

    Thanks Dragonstar!

  9. She's so fearsome! She must be very afraid. I think it's a great image, Shaun.
