The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Actually, I think this is the most cheerful example of a Sheela na Gig that I've ever seen; she's even smiling and has big friendly eyes. Some of them look more like gargoyles, but all display the glory of the female genitals.
Colour doesn't make the goddes look more cheerful. But it's a nice touch!
