Boris Johnson sides with greed, no shock there

London mayor Boris Johnson  once again (unsurprisingly) sided with the greedy last night labelling the anti-capitalist St Paul's protesters "crusties" and he renewed calls for them to be removed.

Last month Johnson declared that the protestors should (In the name of God and Mammon, go" (Mammon being wealth regarded as an evil influence, also the personification of the same as mentioned several times in the New Testament including the Sermon on the Mount).

The Mayor also called on judges to have the "cojones" to rule that they are "restricting the highway" adding that the protest was a "thoroughly maddening protest against capitalism"

Ach Johnson has always able to spew bullshit, and has done for years.  It is no surprise that he will automatically side with greed given the silver ladle in his mouth at birth. Ni big surprise he was a vandal in good standing member of the Bullingdon Club.

Tories choose Boris

Unsurprisingly, Boris Johnson has been chosen as the Tory candidate in next year's mayoral election. He gained three-quarters of the votes cast as he saw off the challenge of relative unknowns Victoria Borwick, Andrew Boff and Warwick Lightfoot.

Usmanov and his shysters Schillings are like a pit bull and its owner – An inadequate with a dog that should be muzzled and castrated. But I digress (I just felt like saying that) It is good to see that Channel 4 News has picked up on Usmanov’s stupid antics and the response across the blogosphere.

Going by the title “Blogosphere mugging for Usmanov” Channel 4 News notes the revolt across the blogosphere noting that over 100 high profile bloggers (plus the Poor Mouth) have posted on this outrage. Interestingly Channel 4 News noted that Usmanov's prison sentence was for corruption although he claims that this was “politically motivated" (why is my bullshit detector going off?)

In addition both the Guardian and the Times are carrying the story with an emphasis on the closure of Boris Johnson's website. Johnson is unsurprisingly angry calling the closure of his website, calling it "a serious erosion of free speech". "This is London, not Uzbekistan., "It is unbelievable that a website can be wiped out on the say-so of some tycoon. We live in a world where internet communication is increasingly vital, and this is a serious erosion of free speech." He said. Bob Piper whose blog was also shut down (neither had anything to do with the case whatsoever) describes the shut-down of his site as “outrageous”

Boris throws his hat into the ring

Following considerable speculation (and some mirth) Boris Johnson (featured left with his press secretary and campaign coordinator) has confirmed that he will seek to become the Tory candidate for London mayor. If selected he will face Ken Livingstone who is looking for a third term as mayor

Mr Johnson, speaking to reporters described London as "Here we are, in one of the most depressed towns in Southern England, a place that is arguably too full of drugs, obesity, underachievement and Labour MPs.". Sorry that was him writing about Portsmouth in April.. What he said actually said that it was "fantastic city" and that being mayor would be a "wonderful chance to serve London".

He added: "I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received from so many people across London.London is an outstandingly varied and beautiful place and it deserves a proper debate. I want to bring fresh ideas to the capital and offer a new direction for Londoners, besides if you vote Tory it will cause your wife to have bigger breasts and increase your chances of owning a BMW M3.” (well he didn't say that last thing then but, what the hell!)

Private Eye editor Ian Hislop, with whom the Johnson has appeared on Have I Got News For You, said: "It's good news for comedy, if not for London. "I just think it'll make life much more interesting."

I must admit I find Johnson occasionally funny but most of the time I just want to grasp him warmly by the throat. I don’t care for Livingstone, I have never have cared for him but I don’t think he’ll worry too much from a Johnson challenge.

Boris for Mayor? HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Sometimes new items can pass me so I was quite surprised to see the Standard headline that Boris Johnson is being considered as a Tory candidate in next year’s London mayoral election.

Does this mean that the Tories are scraping the bottom of the barrel? Wwell perhaps not – I don’t hear any news of my MP Andrew Rosindell being lined up as a candidate!. Perhaps they want someone who will make damned sure that there are mothers piling burgers through the fences of every one of our city’s primary schools. Perhaps too he can spend his free time driving around the more deprived parts of the capital in a Rolls Royce and writing about what awful places they are.

Boris Johnson searches for new people to offend

Boris Johnson's campaign to offend the nation seems to be continuing apace. According to today's Independent Johnson, the shadow higher education minister, went to Portsmouth recently to talk to students at the city's university. At the he was being chauffeured in a £340,000 Maybach limousine as part of a road test for GQ magazine

Johnson was apparently unimpressed by the city describing it as "one of the most depressed" towns in the south of England...too full of drugs, obesity, underachievement and Labour MPs". The people of Portsmouth were equally unimpressed: A picture of a bandanna-wearing Johnson appeared on the front page of yesterday's Portsmouth News under the headline: "You Twit".

Local MP Mike Hancock, (Liberal Democrat, not Labour) demanded that he recant publicly, "He is living up to his reputation of being a buffoon and a prat," said Mr Hancock "He is talking out of his arse and this is typical of Cameron's Conservatism... And for him to talk about people with a weight problem is ridiculous. If you imagine the supreme example of manly fitness, Boris Johnson is not the name that comes to the fore,"

But the Conservative Party - despite harbouring reasonable chances in both the city's constituencies at the next election - was standing by its man. A spokesman said: "Boris speaking his mind, in only the way Boris can, is preferable any day to Labour and Lib Dem politicians who try to cover up the truth."

In October 2004, Mr Johnson was ordered by his then leader, Michael Howard, to visit Liverpool to apologise after accusing the city of showing disproporttionate grief following the murder of hostage Ken Bigley in Iraq. Two years later he accused the people of Papua New Guinea of cannibalism.

Some might laugh off Johnson as a buffoon but it is clear that he is a liability who is not fit to hold office should the conservative win the next election... Hold on.... A liability I say? Carry on Boris, there are millions of voters out there just waiting for your bon mots...
