The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Wordless Wednesday - Hornchurch Country Park Easter Sunday
This week's entry for Wordless Wednesday. Another picture where I played with my infra red filter.
I actually thought it was snow! Amazing photo deception. It actually did snow here in Ohio on Easter. It was my first "white Easter" ever. Everyone was going around saying Merry Christmas because of the snow storm that hit on Easter.
I'm glad it is really just an effect of infra red photography andy and janelle.. I hate snow!
And yet it is just yards form a housing estatell barkat, We dont get huge wilderness
Chris funnny you should mention it but I was going to just that but but a chave went to the entrance and had a piss. I thought better of photographing teh bunker!
Letha, there is a lot of open space around Havering. the Country park is a pleasant place to spend a couple of hours.
Ah I dont know that song ewbl but I am not really familiar with Queensryche
Thanks for nominating me Sonia, much appreciated
Thanks you all for visitng. I hope you come back to see what next week's photo will be
Lol at the chav taking a piss! Its definitely a cool shot, i would of said snow if i hadn't read the comments! John O Groats is lovely for the views out to sea, but the actual place is a bit boring, but all along that coastline up the A9 is gorgeous!
Lands End is lovely but not been there since i was little.

Beautiful.
Wow, I thought it was snow!
Ok, this is no coincidence, every week you beat me onto the WW blogroll by seconds-admit it, you're on constant refresh from 8 o'clock onwards?
;-)
Very beautiful. Nature just begs to be photographed sometimes...
It looks so lonely.
What a beautiful picture.
Favulous, D :)
Great picture!
Is it snowing? or is that just the effect of the infra red?
Lovely picture - gives me a sense of nakedness while still being dressed.
Really a wonderful image. Inspiring for a few ghost stories.
Thanks all. I'm glad you like the photo, It;'s not snow, rather it's jsut what infra red lenses does to greenery
Chris, stakking out from 8pm? Hah I stake out from the previous thursday!
I jest of course!

Thanks for explaining the infra red. Excellent photo.
I was wondering how you had snow and we didn't!
Thanks for commenting on my blog. I hope you visit again soon.

I never knew there was a country park out there.
Of course when I look at Wanstead Flats and the Epping forest it is a silly thought.
It's a beautiful shot, but it's way too cold for me. Happy WW!
What a beautiful shot. We got some flurries on Easter, but that was it.
Happy WW! Thanks for stopping by.
It was cold here, but at least we didn't get snow. Happy WW.
It looks like one of those old timey photos. I love it!
love the effects!
Yes, but are you like my favorite rock group Queensryche? They have a song where they say that they "Dream In Infrared!"
Nice picture. Happy WW, jams!
Jams, you've been awarded The Thinking Blogger Awardhere.
Stunning! I hope it melted soon.

i am completely clueless except if I have to pint or shoot... but this looks really beautiful...
I knew it!!!
Have you tried the filter on any of the old airfield bunkers at the park? Could be quite a striking effect?
Fabulous pic x x
Really lovely. I like the filter effect.
Enjoy the day.
The effects you achieve are amazing.
That is a beautiful shot!
I see shots like this and am filled with envy! Is that snow? Wonderful shot.
Beautiful composition and tone.
Makes it look like the wilderness... I guess much of life is based on our perspective....
