Photo Hunt - Bridge

The theme for this week's Photo Hunt is bridge(s). Again I don't have to stretch the theme! Here are two shots of the Millennium footbridge from outside the Tate Modern

That is one cool bridge! I love both your photos of it. I'd like to walk across that thing someday. Hope you have a great weekend.

What an interesting looking bridge. Great shots!

That's quite a design there. I love the sling shot support of the bridge. This is one cool bridge.

I know the themes are letting our brains relax a bit.

That's a very different looking bridge. I like the fact that you posted in colour and in monochrome - almost makes it look a different place.

Thanks everyone!

certainly not your average bridge! Were those two photos from each of the side? The b&w doesnt have the spires of what seems a church? Happy weekend!

that was me! - I accidentally hit enter :D - mirage

Those are really nice shots for this week's theme. Happy Weekend!

Ah o they're both from the same side. The south of teh river. THe North bank is not so easy vis a vis vantage points and the bridge itself was too crowded for any decent shots

That is an impressive bridge. I really must try and visit that area of London again soon.

I thought it looked familiar. Isn't the Globe just around the corner from where you took that? My cousin and I sometimes visit a pizza place near there, when I'm in London.

Have a great weekend!

Fascinating bridge and great shot. Thanks for your visit to Snap2Days.

Ooh, very nice! Your photos remind me that it's been a long time since I've been to London since the last time I was there, it was before the turn of the millenium, so I've never been on the Millenium footbridge or the London Eye!

Wow - those photos are so beautiful!! I can't imagine a bridge so big just for footing it!

Great shot of your beautiful footbridge! I don't know if I could cross it...LOL

Hhhmm..was the bridge built in 2000 celebrating the Millennium? :)

eastcoastlife said...

That's an interesting and unusual bridge. How long is that?

bonggamom said...

I'd love to cross that bridge, it looks so cooool... is it in London? I don't think I've ever heard of it!

That's a beautiful bridge. At first glance, I thought there were two hands supporting it. I think my brains has been fantasizing too much.. haha :P

Great photos of a very interesting bridge Jams. Imagine that they actually built a footbridge in this day when the car is king.

Can't think anyone has to stretsch this week's theme. At least I found it hard to make a choice. So many interesting bridges. Yours is interesting too. Love your first shot. Guess it's in London.

Colin Campbell said...

Nice one. Good in black and white and colour.

Anonymous said...

great architecture - the use of b&w is very effective, love that shot! :)

Anonymous said...

Was that before or after the wobbling was fixed? I have an abiding memory of crossing it pulling one of those wheely suitcases. The noise was horrendous.

Unknown said...

the design is a bit futuristic. the b & w is interesting. enjoy the weekend!

Lene said...

Really special and cool!! Great to see it in both colors and monochrome :)

Have a nice day :)

Cool shots both. But where is the cat?

Cool looking bridge :) Seeing it in the colored and then B&W is fun!

Hi Jams...long time, no see. I love your bridge photos...the abutments almost remind me of a couple of hands from Poseidon, holding up the bridge...

Come on over and see my bridge photo[s]. Two photos, but one bridge.

Happy Hunting.

That's an interesting footbridge. In the second pic, it looks like the end of the bridge is folding up ;-). Here's mine http://www.mirasblog.com/2009/02/photo-hunt-6-bridge.html

dixymiss said...

Both eXcellent shots! In the color version, my eye is drawn to the rotunda of the builing on the left (lovely architecture), but in the monochrome shot, the bridge really pops.

We should have been paying attention to the photo hunt theme, we have so many bridge pics and could have participated this week.
