In the mood for some Robyn Hitchcock
Robyn is playing one of his regular benefit concerts for Medecins Sans Frontieres tonight at the Three Kings, Clerkenwell. This time it's going to be a performance of Abbey Road. I'm not a Beatles fan in any way shape or form, but , hey, it's in a good cause!
I Often Dream of Trains is of course the title song of his third solo album released in 1984. It is the title somg of a new live CD/DVD release which should be landing on my doorstep soon, postal strikes notwithstanding

You've done a bit of RH, I think.
This will be the seventh time I've seen him in the last 3 years: Two standard concerts, three charity concerts, one recreation of his album I Often Dream of trains and one recreation of Pink Floyd's Games for May
Oddly I often dream of trains as well - I really do....

As a public service can you explain how a local the football team got the moniker "the Yid Army".
In the states the term Yid is often
viewed as a slur. I guess it is a better name than the Brighton Couch

Slightly OT, a Robyn Hitchcock concert in NYC was mentioned in a recent Clea Simon novel. She writes cat-related mysteries, and her main character is a freelance writer who is into the club scene in Cambridge, MA, USA and writes about bands. And has a cat, of course. Thanks to you, when the author injected a ref to Hitchcock, I had at least a clue who she was talking about.
I do too Mutley... sometimes going into tunnels, but not always!
