Word verification

Much as I find the new word verification thingy an irritation I like the level of spam currently bombarding the Poor Mouth even less. While Blogger's spam filter seems to be working well I have found the amount of anonymous comments in my email inbox to be a pain in the arse.

My apologies for the inconvenience but word verification is back on.

I had a wave of spam comments for awhile, then they all stopped. Very odd! I don't have word verification. Maybe the spammers don't like my blog anymore?

Lucky you! I'm being swamped by the damn stuff!

Spam's been increasing over at my blog recently too. Mostly idiotic bot stuff, plugging on-line drug stuff and often in Polish or Russian. I'm still considering reintroducing word verification.

As a frequent commentator, word verification doesn't bug me one bit. I find it amusing. I wish it would be more challenging...like checking historical dates, and chemical data.
Then, maybe I would fail the test, and people would be free of my long-winded comments. Cheers!

I hate the new double word verification. If I didn't like your blog so much I'd never comment at all. as it is I comment less because of it.

Why don't you come over to wordpress. Akismet captures all our spam and there's no hoopla to crawl through to comment.... xx
