This is an opium poppy. Perhaps more mauve than purple but near enough


At least the fuchsia has some purple in it!

Wordless Wednesday - Last fuchsia of the season

This week's entry for the Tuesday and Wednesday edition of Wordless Wednesday. The frosts have finally come and killed off most of our remaining flowers. The Thalia is not frost hardy so it has gone into the greenhouse for the winter. At least it will only be a couple of months until we see the first Snowdrops.

New Toy for my camera

I treated myself to a new lens yesterday - a macro lens. This means I can take better close up shots, no need to crop either. Now to spend the several hundred pounds for a ring flash.
