The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
To be honest, I preferred the cat Greebo (if I have remembered his name correctly). It's the one that made me feel we were getting closest to the real Jams. Not that I would know, of course. Just a hunch.
