The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Yet another version of Emergency
by Girlschool. Features Kim McAuliffe on rhythm guitar, Denise Dufort on drums, Enid Williams back after near 20 years on bass, and Jackie Chambers on lead guitar.
I heard another version of that David Bowie song you put here along with the Nirvana version. 'The Man Who Ruled The World?' Meh, I forget the whole title. Anyway a group called Ultravox covered it too. Theirs is more fast paced and techno-sounding.
I know Ultrvis well. They had a lot of success after the original singer John Foxx left and he was replaced by Midge Ure. Both JF and Lutravox are favourites of teh not-wife. I didn't realise they did a cover of teh man who sold teh world. If I remember rightly I think Midge Ure did a solo cover of teh song.
