The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

WW - The Kiss
Taken at the Rodin Museum, Paris (I'm just back from a most enjoyable stay in Paris with more culture than you can shake a stick at and the best possible company). This week's belated (for me anyway!) Wordless Wednesday.
Rodin could capture passion like nobody. We saw his work at the Wadsworth Atheneum two years ago. Three times because we couldn't get enough. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of his work.
Nice shot, brings back a memory of my dad getting a miniature sculpture of Rodin's Kiss for my mother on their anniversary. As a teenager I was so embarrassed by that! My parents? Kissing? Or more? Augh! LOL
Welcome back - I thought you were in Ireland with your folks. If I were one of the pluted blotocrats I would collect Rodin bronzes - he is a hero of art.
Something that's definitely not gay in ol gay Paree!!!!!
Welcome back. :) It's so weird that I keep hearing a bunch of songs on XM that you would approve of. It kept me company during your blog absence. Sparks, Soft Boys, Robyn, Hoodoo Gurus, Plastic Bertrands....
Great Rodin sculpture. I'm excited because the state museum near me has received a large donation of Rodin's and they are building a special addition to house them. Glad you had a good vacation in Paris.

I did get to see tons of art and museums while I was in Paris, but I know there is a lot more. I need to go back one of these days.

Paris is beautiful, but it doesn't hold a candle to Prague.

Oh poor you. Paris, eh? I love Rodin and although I haven't been to the museum in Paris I have been to the fabulous Rodin museum in Philadelphia.
