Blogging will probably be light for a few days (visiting even lighter). I spent a wonderful night in the A&E of St Thomas Hospital in central London having a twatted ligament in my right leg seen to.

Oh dear me. Poor you. Now that's just the kind of language that would get you into lots of trouble out here. If you arrived at the ER and explained that you'd twatted a ligament they'd seen you off for a psyche evaluation. There again you might get a few brownie points for coming up with the medical term 'ligament.'
Wishing you well again soon.

Take care Jams, rest your leg and we'll do a three-legged race as soon as you feel up to it.

Jams: Here is a poem that will hopefully put a smile on your face.

SICK

"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay,
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash, and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut, my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb,
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is---Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

Having suffered the odd "twatted ligament" during my sporting days you have my sympathy. I played cricket with a transplanted Oldham footballer and he suffered from twatted knees, twatted hips, twatted quads, twatted A/C joints and, of course, twatted ligaments! The ultimate came on the day he took an almighty swing at a ball and "Twatted" his bat in half - quite a lad was our Glyn :)

Hmm... ligament? Come on, Jams, isn't a beer or two better than this doubtful occupation?

Get better soon and forget ligaments.

I've heard of Restless Leg, Invisible Limb, and Leg O Lamb, but never Twatted Leg Ligament.

I guess a cannibal will be crushed to find that your leg tastes of fish rather than chicken. :)

Haha EWBL!

Jams, I hope you get well soon!

Now do not go putting too much pressure on your left leg.
:)

Thanks Ardent. The pain has receded but I can't walk far without my leg wanting to give way. It looks like it will be a while before I'll be leg pressing 400lb again!
