In a letter to the prime minister, Lord Drayson said that the move was "a key step towards my eventual dream of success in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race". Mr Brown responded by praising his "boldness and imagination" for pursuing his ambition and said he looked forward to his return to government, concluding: "I wish you all the very best of luck with the racing."
Hmm it’s a relief to see that a minister leaving in such circumstances, rather than for something he or she has done or not done.

Oh, yes, and I rather like his reason.
Although I guess that he is rich enough to give up his job and go motor-racing, but even so, to go ahead and do it is, yes, praiseworthy.
Lucky him to be able to follow his dream. For me it's a relief to see a minister go for something like that than what we have seen over the years .
