The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
An amazing artist.
definitely no words are needed for this photo.... If one looks closely, one can get the impression as if they are decaying inside....
what a sad picture.
Lot of emotions here!
Very, very moving!Ah, Paris!!
Such lovely textures.
wow this photo really needs no words! awesome!u may view mine if u have time
All life is decay.
THanks! James that is true
Very moving artwork.
Very nice. Just a bit creepy to me.
they look sort of creepy but a lovely sculpture though.
Such beautiful yet vulnerable faces. The oxidation adds to the effect. I wonder if artists see this coming.
Great art work! This is my first WW entry hope you can take a peek!
Awesome.Have a terrific day. :)Mines up: Wordless Wednesday
a masterpiece!Happy Wednesday, I am playing today.. Please check out my Shaolin Baby
Lovely and it somehow made me sad seeing their facial expressions.
There is an incredible expressive quality in these statues. The young man in front in particular seems quite realistic.
It has such a lifelike poignant expression. Amazing. Happy WW
Thanks, Jams! Now I've got to go look up Pere Lachaise. I'm assuming he was a member of a religious order of some such, RC? I see a distinct lack of hope, devoid of emotion other than resignation to what unpleasantness lies ahead. Extremely provoking! Okay, I'm off to "google." Thanks for making me think. I don't dig deep much any more....~~~Blessings~~~
Just wanted you to know, that after my very quick peek at the cemetery, I will pursue this further - thanks again, for making me use the ol' noodle.
That is a stunning capture.
I love your shots of statues. You do a great job.
Excellent shot, Jams!
Cool and creepy.
Its FANTASTIC unique art:-)
You do such a good job capturing what another artist has captured originally. You take some extremely inte4resting pictures. Thanks for sharing them.
Jams this is striking the lighting goes well with the sculptures but their faces.... those are haunting!

How sad. They look like siblings mourning a lost parent.
