The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Another grape hyacinth blooming ahead of its time. I've never been quite happy with my attempts to capture this plant. This is getting a little closer

I liked the other one Jams, but I prefer this one. I like seeing those little unopened buds at the top.
Hopefully the next one will capture a straighter bloom!
