The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Oh Jams! These self portraits are fucking great! How Bold! How Beautiful! How Exciting! The blogosphere is full of hyperbole. Be assured that I whole-heartedly mean these things. It's a rare thing for me to describe something as 'exciting". Congratulations on creating this series. I can easily imagine an exhibition of these plus others of the like.
Why thanks Syncy. These photos are intended to show me fat, psoriasis, scars and all. I tell people not to be ashamed of their look (Stop looking in the Ugly Mirror is a phrase I have used a lot)I should do as I say!
Ah thanks CLaude!
Ah yes. I use it because it is the easiest lens for what I'm doing!

Thank you!
With a hug!
So you got the fisheye lens. Congrats.

These 'mirror' shots are great, Jams. I like your tattoos.
Why than you Stan
They are brave and true and that makes them beautiful. This one is my favourite.
These are great! Love that beard.
Thanks Syncy! I look at it as a deconstruction of the self
Ha Knat, thanks!
Can I have Celena back please?
I do admire the series though - the stuff of a true artistic photographer
You will be glad to hear that we are brainstorming another shoot. If I don't see her beforehand she is coming over with Tim to my parent's on Xmas Day
